Honeywell Home and Resideo sucks

If there is a class action lawsuit against them for this I sure would like to join it. Did you know that any of the products you buy from Honeywell Home and Resideo (a spin off of Honeywell Home) are only guaranteed to last for 2 years. After that they want you to buy a new product from them. I will NEVER buy another product from them. I spent a lot of money to get this and for them to say it is just going to be an expensive paperweight in a couple of weeks because they can no longer be bothered with it just irks me. They sure didn't bother mentioning that it was only going to be working for a few years when they sold it to me and as of today you can still buy the product on Amazon. Just do a search for Honeywell Home RCHS5200WF Smart Home Security Base Station

In my opinion Arlo is the much better choice.

I just started watching a Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q_8sQ9kQeY that started with a lady who said she was an ordained minister who clearly does not know the Bible near as well as she thinks she does. Anyways, here is my response to her claim that the Bible does not talk about people going to Hell who are gay.

1 Corinthians 6: 9–11 (NLT) 9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or PRACTICE homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. However, that being said ALL of us have a sin nature. Some are gay, some are adulterers, some are lovers of self, some are lovers of money and on and on. What matters is if we are saved. We all (myself included) have to turn from our sin nature and turn to Jesus who died so that we may have our sins forgiven. Luke 9:23 ESV (This is Jesus speaking) And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross DAILY and follow me. Romans 6:1-4 (NLT) Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. I put the word practice in caps simply to highlight that it is NOT the being gay that sends you to Hell. It is the continuing to practice it without turning to Jesus who is the only way to the Father.

Why I believe

I have had people ask me how can I believe in God so strongly. I tell them because I have seen him at work in my life. Think of it like this. If you lived in a house alone and one day you got home and put your wallet on the kitchen table but after you took a shower you found your wallet on your bed. Hmmm, you think to yourself I could have sworn I left it on the kitchen table. The first time it happened you would probably chalk it up to forgetfulness. But let's say it happens day after day and you are making sure you are not taking it into the bedroom with you. After awhile you are going to realize that even though you haven't seen them someone is in the house with you. They are coming out of hiding when you go shower and moving something of yours to a location you didn't leave it. Then going back into hiding. And that is the way I know God exists. I have seen Him move in my life and work things out to my benefit. The first time I could have said Ahhh, coincidence. But the hundredth time? The thousandth time? I have seen Him at work so often in my life and doing things for me I could never even when I was younger and stronger ever do for myself.

Boycotting the Olympics

I am not watching the Olympics because their opening ceremony was a slap in the face to every true Christian. Then to add insult to injury they went to the guy with a cross on his board and told him he had to remove it or he would not be allowed to compete. If you do consider yourself a Christian and are OK with all of that then you may want to examine your Christianity.

Biden dropped out

I told every one that he was going to drop out. They thought I was wrong. I was hoping I was going to be wrong. But, I was of course correct. He dropped out a little while ago and endorsed Harris. My next prediction is simply this (although I hope I am wrong this time) Harris is NOT going to be given the democRat nomination. After all you can just look up Kamala Harris word salad and see what kind of president she would be. Just like you should have looked up bidenisms before voting the last election.

Another rejected coment by democRat Yahoo

Yahoo is obviously run by democrats. It is something they do not try to hide. Almost every political story they run is all from the left's perspective. And if you post a comment on their website they highly censor any comments from the right. Especially, when you are stating facts that make the left look bad. The fact I stated was how the KKK was started by the democrats and the democrats made up the membership. That is a fact and since they cannot dispute this fact they choose to delete it instead. Doing their best to try to change history. Btw...It is also a fact that it was the democrats that owned slaves and it was the Republicans led by the first Republican President Abraham Lincoln that freed the slaves. You cannot change history.

Trump's new Vice-President

Mike Pence was the Vice-President under Donald Trump. I never liked him and thought he was a bad choice for a running mate. Since then he has in fact proven himself to be worth about a pence ( about a penny in UK currency). So, in order to avoid making the same mistake that was made the first time I would like to put forth my choice as a new running mate for President Donald Trump in 2024. And that is <You will have to insert your own drum roll due to budget cuts> Ron DeSantis. So, tell me do you believe this is a good idea? Or a great idea?

Republican Primary 2024

The reason for this is because as you know the government is no longer for the people like they were elected to be. There is nothing put together to do things like make sure they keep their election promises. However, if they know we are all going to vote the same way they will be more inclined to do for the people rather than their own self-interests. I personally am tired of the woke agenda and how they are trying to brainwash kids at a younger and younger age. We need to fight back. I am also tired of those who call themselves Republican but show by their actions they are anything but. For example, our previous Mayor Jeff Bauknight had a chance to protect our kids by getting the porn out of our public library but instead chose to just move it all to a different part of the library and call it good. I guess he thought surely kids that can walk over to the other section would not be going to the library. And now he is running for Texas House of Representatives? I am praying that he does not win.

How does a President cause inflation?

Someone asked me: "How does a president cause inflation?" Here was my response... "Upon entering office the President steers fiscal and regulatory policy. They can also appoint Federal Reserve Governors. Additionally, having huge oversized government spending at the same time you are allowing over 10 million illegals to cross over into our country undeterred. Also, you could kill the Keystone Pipeline, freeze federal leases, shut down ANWR all the while waving sanctions on Putin's pipeline then having to rely on Russia to sell oil to us at a huge increase. It probably doesn't help to have a President who goes around trying to shake hands with people only he can see and having to be instructed where to go and who you can talk to by someone in an Easter Bunny costume."

DemocRATS just don't get it.

Lately, I have been seeing a lot YouTube videos that show the closing of stores like Walmart and others in certain democrat controlled areas where mass shoplifting has become rampant. And the people actually have the audacity to get mad at Walmart for closing their beloved stores. Don't you get it? Your shoplifters don't give them much of a choice. They are in business to make money. That means they can either raise prices to cover the loss which democrats then cry about calling it "price gouging" (it isn't. It's to cover the cost of the stolen items) or they can shut down stores. Instead of getting mad at Walmart they could get mad at the shoplifters. They could also start by voting Republican.  When you vote democrat you are voting for crime to shoot up, prices to shoot up and stores to have to close. I know you have heard it said that Republicans are for the rich. That is not the case. If it were then people like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet would all be voting Republican. They don't. They vote and give their money to democrats. Wait till my next post when I tell you the real differences between democrat and Republicans. Vote Trump.

Minnesota Viking Fans

There was a recent ranking made of the different NFL fanbases and for some strange reason this clueless reporter ranked Minnesota Vikings fans at the 20th spot. No explanation on how he came to this conclusion. I kinda figure he just threw all the names in a hat and started drawing names. I can't figure out otherwise how he could be so far wrong. In one game in the 3rd quarter the Vikings were down 33 - 0. Did you see a mass exodus of fans trying to beat the traffic jam. No. Every fan stayed right there and watched and cheered the Vikings to victory. No other teams fanbase would have done that. We bleed purple. Enough said.

cub cadet sucks

I had a supposedly brand new cub cadet that only worked once. I took it back to duffy's and every time they thought they had it fixed they couldn't get it to start. I contacted cub cadet and they wanted no part of it. They said I had to work with duffy's. After three times of this I finally sent my step dad over there to pick it up and see if he could get it to work. He went over there. They said this time they had it fixed for sure but once again they couldn't get it started. So, I decided to go to Lowes and try a different route. By this time biden was in office and so of course gas prices were insane and I decided to get this corded electric one. I am so glad I did. I have never had any problems with it. I even decided to let my grass grow real high to see if it could handle it (ok that and sometimes I am just lazy lol). It went through it like it was nothing. Also it still looks brand new. I would buy this one again in a heart beat. Yes, I have to watch out for the cord but that is a small price to pay for having my yard looking perfect without a hassle.

Minnesota Vikings!!!

I am going off script here but I just can't help it. It was one of the most unbelievable games I have ever seen. Hollywood would have not wanted to produce this because they would say that it just couldn't happen. Sunday 11/5/23 The Minnesota Vikings best team ever (that haven't yet won a Super Bowl are about to play the atlanta falcons. Before we even start the game we were missing the best WR in the whole NFL, another of our first string wide receivers, our first string QB, our first string Tackle and a few first stringers on defense. So we are having to play our rookie QB who until then had never even started a game in the NFL. Then in the first quarter we lose another of our first string wide receivers due to a dirty play by the falcons. We also lose our backup QB and are down to our last QB that only arrived 5 days ago. If he gets hurt we better hope that the water boy can throw a football. Our 2nd string RB gets hurt. Our 1st string (although I am not sure why he is first string) is only averaging 2 yards per carry and our last QB fumbles 3 times and also gets sacked for a safety. I was busy calculating how bad we are going to lose by when he all of a sudden comes alive. And by doing so the whole team came alive. He proceeded to throw two touchdowns and run for another one. He ran a lot. He ended with a 9.43 per carry average and the most yards of anyone else on our team or the other team. He also ran for a 1st down when it was 4th and 7. Other heroes of the game are T.J Hockenson, Jordan Addison and Byron Murphy. Actually in this game, Everyone was a hero. They really came together over more adversity then I have ever seen. No one other than us Vikings fans gave us any chance of getting in the playoffs this year but we are now 2nd in our division and have beat every team in our division except for the lions whom we have not played yet. By the way, if the season ended today...we would be in the playoffs. Watch out...we are coming for you.

I saw a sunset...

The other day I watched a sunset. I was awestruck at the beauty of it. And it made me wonder about people that could see the same sunset and all that God has given us and still not believe in God. I mean how do they think we went from a rock floating in space to one with all of this life on it except through God. The Word of God states it clearly in a couple of locations.

Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky shows His handiwork.

Later in Romans 1:19-20 it says

19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

What that means is if you have ever seen a sunset or a sunrise or even a tree you are without excuse as to why you do not believe in God. Seriously time is growing short. Please turn to God now before it is too late. Heaven or Hell it is your choice.

How did you get to Heaven before Jesus

I was thinking how awesome it would have been to be alive back when Jesus was walking the earth preforming miracles and to be able to listen to Him teach and preach. Then I started reading the Bible and was reading about all of the different offerings you had to make back before Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for us sinners (myself chief among them). There were five main types of offerings: the burnt offering, the grain offering, the peace offering, the sin offering, and the trespass offering. Each of these offerings involved certain elements, either animal or fruit of the field, and each had a specific purpose. Some of the offerings were divided into portions for God, the priests, and the offerer, while others were completely burned or consumed by fire. Accepting Jesus into your heart means you never have to worry about completing any of the sacrifices that were previously needed. It also means that you never have to worry about whether you are good enough to get into Heaven (believe me you are not) or if you have done more good than bad deeds over the course of your life (you can't). The Bible says in Isaiah 64:6 that we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags. (NKJV). What that means is that if you are not a Christian then there is nothing you can do --- No amount of good works you can perform to make it into Heaven. You need Jesus. You have to have Jesus in order to get into Heaven. John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me. <Emphasis is mine>. It doesn't say OK, here's what we are going to do. We are going to weigh your bad against your good and then decide if you will end up in Heaven or Hell. No. It says NO ONE comes to the Father except through Jesus. The end IS coming I pray that you turn to Jesus before it is TOO LATE.

Why are used-car prices going up?

A question in a Yahoo article asked "Why are used-car prices going up?" Well the answer is simple and please feel free to explain this to any democRATS or RINO's next to you. It is called the Law of Supply and Demand. When biden and the rest of the democrats let millions of illegals stream across the border and treat them basically as citizens they are going to want to buy stuff. Food, a place to lay their head, and cars. They cannot afford to start off with a new car so they start off with an used one. That is in part why the price of everything is going up. There. Mystery solved.

You voted for it

When ever I hear a democrat complain about the price of everything skyrocketing I always remind them they voted for it. If you voted for biden you voted for all of the problems having a democrat in office causes including high prices on everything. So, congratulations you got exactly what you voted for. When President Trump was in the White House prices were a lot lower. Also, President Trump lost money serving America. He donated his salary. If you look at the democrat side of the aisle you will see they all got rich while in office.

I was horrible growing up

I have had 3 stages in my life. During the first part of it till like age 42 I was horrible to everybody. I used people only ever thinking about myself and what they could do for me. I did not know Christ and in fact thought who could possibly be better than me? Yeah, I was not exactly lacking in confidence. I hadn't heard of Jesus or God and the very few times we did go to church I spent the time picking up girls. Life was good. I never had any problem picking up girls --- I was smart enough that school was never a problem for me --- I was athletic and pretty good at anything I ever tried. There wasn't a God shaped hole in my life. I did have a Dad who when he quit drinking used to knock me around quite a bit and at 9 he put my head through a wall but as long as I avoided him everything was great.

2nd stage When I was a kid I read a lot. I loved to read. Still do. And one of the things I read was how if you haven't grown up by the time you are 50 you no longer have to. So, that was my goal. Till my 40's I played video games (saved the world a few times --- You are welcome) and had a massive comic book collection. Then one day I was 42, in my car outside of Game Stop waiting for it to open so I could run in and get the latest game. I was flipping through the radio when Dave Ramsey came on. I was amazed. The more I listened the more I realized I was on the wrong path. Before that, I had never thought about retirement at all. I was still in perfect health and growing up just never occurred to me. When I was in High School I hear that a guidance counselor is supposed to talk to you and ask you what you want to be when you graduate and things like that. I never got the meeting. My Dad had kicked me out when I was 16 so I wasn't in school a lot and I might not have been there when it was supposed to happen. But whatever the reason I wasn't guided by anything but that saying about not growing up. After listening to Dave Ramsey and then getting his book and reading that in a day (the book is that good) I knew I needed to get an adult job that paid good money and get a plan. I got a job with a company that wanted me to put out, service and collect money from their claw machines (the kind where you try to win stuffed animals and the like). The first day after my training I had to get an Uhaul and go put out the machines. I had locations all over from Lake Jackson to Corpus Christi, to Seguin etc. It took all day and I did not get home till like 1:30 am the next morning. At 8 am I get a call saying one of the machines is broken so I need to take the Uhaul back to Beaumont, pick up my car, drive it back to Victoria where I was to pick up my company car with the tools they had for me then go to Houston to fix the machine. So, I set off for Beaumont but I am still exhausted. I am driving down I-10 towards Beaumont and want to get something to drink to help keep me awake. However, I had not yet gotten my first check and was broke. I did have a Target card on me so when I saw a Target I decided to pull in get a drink and some sunflower seeds to wake me back up. Pulling in to Target I failed to notice the crossbar it had over the entrance to I guess keep big trucks from entering. Apparently my truck was too big and I took off a good section of the top of my Uhaul. Needless to say by this time I am wide awake (No caffeine necessary) so I get back on the freeway heading to Beaumont thinking "Well, maybe they won't notice the new sunroof" 😟Of course when I do get there that was the first thing they saw. Anyways, I turn in the slightly shorter Uhaul, picked up my car and head back towards Houston from Beaumont. I was in a little Subaru Justy.

I switch on the cruise control to 77 and start zooming down I-10. I am not sure when but when I get into Houston there was road construction. At least that is what they told me. I didn't know because I was sound asleep. Apparently what happened was a bus ahead of me had stopped for the construction and I going 77 mph ran right into the bus. My car flipped a bunch of times and I was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Houston where I finally woke up. They kept me overnight for observation but other than some bruising I was fine. My Mom came and got me the next day to take me home. We first stop at the junk yard to see what was left of the car (which wasn't much). The guy working there was amazed to see me because as he said it he just knew that whomever had been driving the car was now dead and then we started towards home. We were listening to the radio when on came a news report of a guy in a truck who ran into the back of a bus that had stopped and the guy died at the scene. My Mom turned to me and said "Wow, God has some special plans for you." I have a hard time explaining what happened next but it was like the most powerful floodlight ever just lit up ever corner of my brain. Like in that instance God was showing me His glory and I started thinking wait does God really exist. When I got home I started researching God and Jesus and if they were actually real. The more I researched the more I believed. And I finally became a Christian.

Student loan forgiveness...

There was an article on Yahoo titled Republicans Enraged after Biden ‘Forgives’ Billions in Student Debt. In the comments a guy (and so I do not embarrass him by showing how unknowledgeable he is I will not put his name here) wrote Inflation is global. We're doing better than most. This actually HELPS the economy.

This is the response I wanted to add to that.

The rest of the world is having issues with inflation partially because as goes America so does the rest of the world and because they have made their own stupid choices such as Germany deciding against President Trumps advice to rely on Russia for the majority of their energy needs. As far as biden forgiving 300 billions of dollars in student loans helping the economy that it is laughable. He can forgive it one of either two ways both of which are bad. Either he can hand the banks over taxpayer money that should actually come from those who agreed to pay it back when they borrowed it. What happens for the people who had student loans but paid them off? This isn't fair to them.  What happens to those who now want to go get a student loan to go to college. Do they get theirs forgiven as well? Where does it end? The problem with it is A) Sooner or later you run out of other people's money. B) that is money which could be used on more intelligent things. Such as finishing building the wall to keep out terrorists and illegals. This actually would help the economy and lower inflation or have you never heard of the law of supply and demand? The other way he could do it is tell the banks that by executive order those government issued loans are forgiven and the banks are just out the money. I actually do like that plan better only because only that will make the banks start to intelligently decide who gets loans based on whether they will actually be able to pay it back rather than just handing out tens of thousands of dollars to kids not even old enough to buy beer. I still think it has problems --- namely who would ever trust the government at their word for anything. Who would want to (this is just an example) buy a government savings bond knowing that the government has a history of going back on their word in regards to paying what they owe. By the way you said that it would help the economy. I am interested in hearing how you think it will help. If you think because of no longer having a loan to pay they will have that money to spend then if they already have this money why didn't they use it to pay off the loan? Also, if they do have the money (chances are they don't) what says they are for sure going to use it to go buy things? I know for myself as soon as biden was elected and I saw which way the country was going to go I decided to stop all unnecessary spending and start working on becoming debt free and then building a huge emergency fund because with this president in the white house an emergency is coming. On the bright side I am now down to my last credit card, my last loan and only owe $1,000 on my car.

Worst purchase ever made

The worst purchase I have ever made was a brand new (at least that is what Duffy's said) cub cadet lawn mower. I bought it 3 years ago at Duffy's (worst place to buy anything from) so I guess that makes this blog a two-fer. I took it home and cut the grass with it. It worked fine. The next time I went to start it it wouldn't start. So, I loaded it up and took it back over to Duffy's where of course they tried to blame me but said they would fix it and call me when it was ready. Months later I get the call it is ready. I pick it up. They did not show me it worked before I left with it (which IS my fault) I get it home and it STILL doesn't start. I take it back and go through the whole it must be my fault dance but they cannot get it started either so they again say leave it here and we will call you when it is ready. I wait for more months and call up there they say they are waiting on a part. Then another couple weeks and I get the call that it is ready. Having learned my lesson from last time I ask them to start it. They can't. So, again I go home without it and wait for the call, 3 months later it still hadn't come. Finally someone asked me if I am going to do anything with that piece of junk. I said no they could have it but they need to pick it up from Duffy's. They go to pick it up and are told it is ready. Their supposed mechanic tries to start it and cannot. The person tells them they are going to take it anyways and has them load it up on their truck. So, if you need a lawn mower I recommend any of them other than a worthless cub cadet that has a supposed warranty of always starting (don't believe it) and getting said lawn mower from any place other than Duffy's. I should have been more wary when it was not even in a box. But --- they said it was new and I was stupid enough to believe them. BTW: I have since bought a Kobalt lawn mower from Lowe's that I have not had a lick of trouble from. My second worse purchase way way WAY down the list from a brand new piece of trash cub cadet from duffy's is a Ferragamo wallet. I know you are wondering why is a nice Ferragamo wallet a bad purchase. And unlike the cub cadet lawnmower that won't work the Ferragamo wallet works great. It looks awesome, has enough room for all of my cards and I get quite a few compliments when I pull it out. The only reason that I consider it a bad purchase is because of the cost. It cost $500 and no I am not by any means rich. I just have to wake up and stop spending like I am. I saw a picture of some girl from some TV show I never watched and on it it has her saying something like "Don't but the $500 purse and have nothing to put in it. Instead buy the $10 purse and have $490 to put into it." That is what I would have done. Uh...except with a $10 wallet.

Problems with the IRS

I wonder how many people have problems with the IRS and then cannot get hold of anyone. Back on 3/19/22 I did my taxes on IRS.gov and was told that my Federal Tax Return was successfully queued for transmission. In 24-48 hours I should receive an email indicating whether my filing was accepted or rejected. That was two months ago. I have tried calling multiple multiple times. I cannot get hold of a live person. They for some reason do not have a chat feature nor an email address. Their website says if you have filed do NOT re-file. I have called the local branch number trying to set up an appointment so I could talk to someone but I keep getting the message --- No one is available to take your call. Sucks to be you. I would write a letter but want to make sure it gets to someone who cares. Not sure if that is in their job description. So, has anybody else had problems with the IRS? Did it ever get resolved? Is this just a covid thing?

Good Friday to all

As I was working today I kept having people saying to me Happy Easter. And don't get me wrong --- we should be looking to Easter, which is resurrection of Jesus Chris. However, we shouldn't skip over Good Friday so easily. Because without Good Friday, Easter never happens. It seems to be less popular because after all, Good Friday is when Jesus was actually put to death. Yes, Easter is the fulfillment of His promise. I just caution you not to forget all He had to suffer to bring us Easter. First, Jesus was tortured, mocked and murdered in a horrible fashion. Nowadays, if someone is to be put to death you have hundreds who gather and protest the killers execution. They stand around holding up signs condemning the taking of the life of someone who actually deserves death, as do we all. Jesus, the only truly innocent among us did not have that. It has always seemed sad to me that the loudest voices asking for Him to not be executed were Pontius Pilate and his wife.

I wanted to thank everyone for getting out to vote. Most everybody we voted for did in fact win 😊.  The one big notable exception was the race for Attorney General. Ken Paxton won ahead of both Eva Guzman (our choice) and George P Bush. I am sure a lot of Mr. Paxton winning was due to the fact that he was endorsed by President Trump who let's face it has much more clout than I do. 😜 I just hope that his winning it does not come back to bite us. This is one race we cannot afford to lose.

Stand Together

I have gotten off Facebook and so have more time to devote to this blog. I have had a lot of people asking me who I am voting for in the upcoming election so I decided to make that my 1st post. To make this city, county, state, country and world better we need to vote for the right people and that starts in the primaries. This is who I voted for and I urge you if able to do the same. If we get a huge voting block then we can force them to do the right thing or get rid of them if they don't. I realize I have a lot of readers from all across the United States and from across the world (which really amazes and humbles me) so I know that there may be different people running where you are at but some key things to look for if you do not live in Texas or where these particular elections are being held. If you live in the United States vote Republican. We could make this country number one again but it will have to be with Republican ideals not the democrat give away the farm ideals. If we ever got to where we had a Republican President (not a "RINO" Republican in name only and not a Bush type whom I couldn't even bring myself to vote for) But an actual Republican president at the same time we had control of Congress you would see us implement all of the ideas I have laid out in previous posts and be amazed how great this country would be for ALL of its citizens. Each election I will do this write up of all the candidates I am voting for. I pray that all of you see the wisdom and work with me on this.

For all of you who live in other countries but are allowed to vote for your leaders these are the qualities you should look for. First off you want them to be a follower of Jesus. Not someone who just goes to church but one who actually lives their life following Jesus. Matthew 7:16-20 states that 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

In other words, there are plenty of people that will say that they are Christians but sure don't act like it. You want someone that says they are AND behaves like they are. You want someone honest. Someone that does what they say and says what they do. I will write more on this in a future post but better get on with posting my choices before the election is over. 😊

I live in Victoria Texas so this is who was on the ballot here that I voted for. Once again this is for the Republican primaries. Also, I did not post the unopposed races because sine they are running unopposed it kind of narrows it down who to vote for. 😜 You are allowed to take a picture of this and take it into the ballot box with you.

United States Representative
Michael Cloud

Governor
Greg Abbott

Lieutenant Governor
Dan Patrick

Attorney General
Eva Guzman

I know I may get a lot of questions about this election and why I did not vote for Ken Paxton who is the incumbent and who has done quite a bit of good such as when he declared sex change procedures on children and the prescription of Puberty Blockers to be “Child Abuse” Under Texas Law or when he fought for us against the Vaccine Mandates. That is all well and good. The problem is he has also been involved in a number of scandals and is still currently under investigation. So, let's say he does win the primary and then goes on to the General Election. If he gets arrested between winning the primary and winning the General election then since we cannot then just install someone to run in the General election. We lose it by default and the Democrat will win automatically which is the first step to turning this state into another California where so many people are now fleeing from. Besides Eva Guzman is an excellent choice for the job. She has the experience. Her parents came over to this country legally. Then he Dad was murdered by an illegal alien so she knows the danger of being overrun by those not willing to come here the right way. And is willing to fight to stem the tide of those who criminally enter our country.

Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts
Glenn Hegar

Texas Land Commissioner aka Commissioner of Agriculture
Jon Spiers

Texas Railroad Commissioner
Wayne Christian

Texas Supreme Court Place 9
Evan Young

Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Place 5
Scott Walker

Texas State Board of Education District 2
LJ Francis

This is a super important election. It features LJ Francis who is against CRT (Critical Race Theory) where we start in grade school teaching kids that one group should basically hate the other group because they are of a different race and then teach the other kids that they should be ashamed of being the race that they are because of this their ancestors may or may not have done in the past.  The other candidate Hilda Garza-DeShazo is apparently for such nonsense. Vote LJ Francis.

Texas House of Representatives District 30
Geanie Morrison

Texas Thirteenth District Court of Appeals Place 3
Ysmael Fonseca

District Judge of the 377th District Court
Eli Garza

Victoria County Criminal District Attorney
Constance Filley Johnson

Victoria County Clerk
Brandy Schustereit

In the race for Victoria County Clerk there is not an obvious good or bad choice. There are things I like about both of them and things I disliked about both of them.

Victoria County Commissioner Precinct 4
Kenneth Sexton

Victoria Justice of the Peace Precinct 4
John G. Miller
So, that is my list. If you have any questions about why I chose who I did or about anything else feel free to leave it in the comments and I will answer it. Because unlike Biden I do not have a problem answering any questions 😂

biden is a liar

During his campaign biden promised that if elected he would give each American $2000 (with a few caveats ie: not to people that are wealthy). After he got into office they sent out direct payments of $1400. Then they sent out letters saying --- See I fulfilled my campaign promise. WRONG!!! By my math they are still $600 short. I know that they are trying to claim the $600 payment that we received under President Trump but that is akin to saying to someone if you clean my house I am going to give you $2000 and they clean my house and they say OK, where is my money and I hand them $1400. They would say Hey, where is the other $600 and I respond with Well, didn't your boss at the XYZ corp. give you $600? They say yes and I say OK then we are good because I am going to go ahead and take the credit for what someone else has already given you. 😁

I do not think that would go over very well. And neither should biden trying to take credit for what President Trump has done for us. So no. biden has NOT kept his campaign promise.

Who I have voted for...

Someone asked me who I voted for. They asked if I just always vote Republican and my answer is Yes and No. I do vote Republican because if we were to ever have a good Republican President at the same time we were to have control of Congress we could in truth make this country truly great. However, the ones I know that would make a great President and the one that wins the primary are not always the same so I rather than go against my convection's I write in the best person who was in the primary even if they dropped out. This is the list of the ones I have voted for since 2008. If you have any questions as to why or any other questions feel free to ask.

Duncan L. Hunter 2008 (wrote in) By far the best candidate

Rick Santorum  2012 (wrote in) best of a bunch of bad choices

Ted Cruz 2016 (wrote in)  By far the best candidate ever - he has the whole U.S. Constitution memorized and will even go against his own party if it is the right thing to do. For example, Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Peña, two girls from Houston, Texas, aged 14 and 16, respectively, were gang raped, tortured and murdered by a gang consisting mainly of illegal aliens. They were captured, put on trial and found guilty. One of the gang members before he could be executed appealed his execution saying that even though he was guilty he was a Mexican citizen. He petitioned the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in 1998 regarding this issue; the appeal failed.
In 2005, President George W. Bush showing how weak he was ordered that the killer not be executed and that he be released to Mexico who was all upset and wanted their citizen released. Even though they were both Republicans, had previously worked together and Ted Cruz had a lot of people telling him that it would ruin his career to go against the President of the United States; Ted Cruz said --- It does not matter. I still have to do what is right and challenged Bush's order. It ended up in front of the Supreme Court where Ted Cruz won the victory. José Ernesto Medellín was rightly executed at 9:57 pm on August 5, 2008.

Donald Trump 2020 - has really proven himself and is the only president to fulfill all but one of his campaign promises (the wall) because the democRATS still controlled the house and spent 4 years with the rinos fighting him while doing absolutely nothing for the American people. Also, a lot of other presidents from both sides of the aisle obama, clinton, bush had previously promised that they were going to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem which is the capital of Israel. The others got scared and backed down from doing so because they have no back bone. Only President Trump carried through on his promise. Furthermore, during clinton's, Bush's and obama presidency their was terrorist attacks against the United States but none with President Trump in office.

The Vaccine

I am not getting the vaccine. I will wait till everything is known about it before I go rush out and get a supposed vaccine that was made in 6 months, Has 0 long term studies, the manufaturer has 0 liability and Bell's Palsy has been shown to be one of the possible side effects from the vaccine. Instead I will let those people that cannot wait to take the vaccine be the guinea pigs. Thank you for that. 😜

How to overcome the coronavirus

In my last post I said that God in His mercy told us in 2 Chronicles 7:14 what we should do when the events of 2 Chronicles 7:13 began to happen like they are now. 2 Chronicles 7:14 states "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." I know some of you are thinking will that work? The answer is yes. Have you heard of Jonah? Yes, the guy who was swallowed by the whale. Some of you may not know WHY he got swallowed by the whale.  So, as Paul Harvey liked to say here is the rest of the story. Jonah was told by God to go to Nineveh and prophesy its destruction but he hates the people of Nineveh and tries to escape the mission by running away and heading for Tarshish instead. To do this he went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port and after paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord. However, the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. The sailors said to each other, “Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity.” They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. They asked him, “What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?” And Jonah tells them pick me up and throw me into the sea, and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.” So, they threw him overboard and the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. When Jonah repented and said he would do what God had told him to do God has the whale let him out onto dry land and Jonah goes to Nineveh where he begins by proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” The Ninevites believed in God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth. When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles:
Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.  But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” When God saw what they did and how they had humbled themselves and turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened. So that is what this country and the world needs to do if we want to survive the judgement that has befallen us. We need to humble ourselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways;

Coronavirus and its ilk

For those of you who don't believe in God. For those of you who can go outside and see all the glory all around you and still believe we went from a rock floating through space to one that magically had life on it and the ability to sustain that life. For those of you who believe that the Bible is nothing more than just a collection of stories that could not possibly be true tell me why is it that what we are living in now is directly from the Bible. Go to your Bible and look up  2 Chronicles 7:13 which says (and this is from the Lord) "

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (NIV)

13 When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, (emphasis mine)
"Maybe you are saying: OK, I can see that pestilence is a epidemic disease meaning the Coronavirus but I have not seen any droughts or locusts. Well, just because God has so far protected us in Texas from drought and locusts there are places in our country and/or the world where it is happening. Here are just some of the recent articles relating to the droughts.

You'll notice I did not have to go years back to find these. Most of them are this year with a couple of them being last year. And as far as the Coronavirus goes... Well, on Dec. 31, 2019 the government in Wuhan, China, confirmed that health authorities were treating dozens of cases. And on Jan. 11th (my birthday go figure) China reported its first death. So, we have all of this from just one verse in the Bible happening all at the same time. Fortunately God in His mercy told us in the very next verse what to do when we see this happen.

Trump was right Corona Virus

Here is what democRATS also don't seem to understand. If they had followed President Trump the way they are supposed to when he wanted to keep the foreigners out then none of this Corona Virus would have happened here. The one who brought it over was a man from China. And for those who say we still would have gotten it because of Americans who go to other countries would have brought it back. That is only partially true. First off as soon as the first case came out then President Trump would have pulled every American home. And when they did come they would have been quarantined and tested for the virus before being sent home so instead of the more than 30,000 we currently have we might have had 5 that were already under quarantine thereby protecting the rest of the population. I hope you are smart enough to vote for President Trump in this next election. Because if not we will end up with joe biden with all his bidenisms. Such as when he gave away the location of their formerly secret bunker. LOL You might have to copy and paste the link. or on your computer you can right click and click on open link in new tab (depending on your OS and browser)  https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bidenisims&qpvt=bidenisims&FORM=VDRE

The last days

It really amazes me how people can look around and not see that we are in the last days. The signs are everywhere. Get right with God before it it too late.

Monday, January 20, 2020

There was a song from the early 70's "I'd Love To Change The World" by the band "Ten Years After". Some of the lyrics are --- "Tax the rich/ feed the poor /Till there are no rich no more/". This demonstrates perfectly the way democRATS think.  All they think about is now without thinking of the ---and then what? If you tax the rich to feed the poor till there are no rich no more it forgets the ---and then what? I guess then we all starve together. That is the problem with democRAT thinking. Instead of wanting to bring the poor up to where everyone is rich they continually attempt to bring the rich down to where everyone is poor.  The problem with that is --- then what? Then everybody would be too poor to feed themselves much less anyone else. OK, now let's say we decide not do it the democRAT way. Let's say that instead we try the Republican way where instead of tearing down the rich to poor levels we instead bring the poor up to rich levels so that EVERYONE is rich. Now, which way sounds better to you?
Donald Trump / straight Republican ticket 2020 (except for the Rhinos who forgot which side they are supposed to be on)

2020 Election

As we get closer to the elections I will write more political posts. To be honest in 2016 I did not vote for Donald Trump. I and my friends instead chose to write in Ted Cruz who in my mind was by far the better choice. Since I am not stupid I was not going to vote for a democRAT. The only reason Trump won the primaries over Ted Cruz was because of all the democRATS who voted for Trump in the primaries figuring that even hillary could beat him. They were wrong. This year assuming Ted Cruz is not going to run I am going to vote for President Trump with pride and the reason is simple. President Trump has kept all of his campaign promises with the exception of the wall. And the only reason that he has not kept the wall is due to pelosi and the rest of her ilk fighting him tooth and nail on it.
All of his other promises have been kept. Trump kept his promise to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to their actual capital in Jerusalem, something his three immediate predecessors also promised yet failed to do because of fear. He promised to “crush and destroy ISIS,” and he is on the verge of eliminating Islamic State’s physical caliphate. He promised to impose a travel ban on countries that are posing a terrorist threat, and the final version of his ban has been upheld by the Supreme Court. Trump pledged to nominate Supreme Court justices “in the mold of Justice (Antonin) Scalia,” and now Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh sit on the high court. Trump also pledged to fill the federal appellate courts with young, conservative judges, and so far the Senate has confirmed 29 — more than any recent president at this point in his administration.
Trump promised to cancel Obama’s Clean Power Plan which because of it being poorly structured had been met with both Congressional and Court challenges and instead implemented the Affordable Clean Energy rule. The changes were hailed by industry representatives. He also promised to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, approve the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines, and open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to exploration. He has fulfilled all of those pledges.
On trade, he kept his promise to withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership and impose tariffs on steel and aluminum. He also committed to renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement and the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement — and recently signed new deals with Mexico, Canada and South Korea. He committed to imposing tariffs on China to force it to open its markets and stop its theft of intellectual property — and is following through on that pledge. Whatever one thinks of Trump’s trade policies, he is doing exactly what he said he was going to do and is in fact one of the few presidents since Ronald Regan to do so.
Unlike obama, he did not pass his signature legislative achievement on the basis of a lie (“If you like your health care plan, you can keep it”) — which is clearly worse than falsely bragging that your tax cut is the biggest ever. Also unlike obama who apparently has no idea how supply and demand works he did not implement something ruinous to the economy like obama's cash for clunkers.
If you appreciate a politician who actually does what he says he is going to do and not want to see this country further weakened then you will also vote for President Trump.

I failed God today

Usually when someone asks me how I am doing I tell them "I am better than I deserve". Which is true. According to the Bible what we deserve is Hell. Instead what I have been given is a vast amount of mercy. I have been given incredible health. I have not had to go to a doctor or even been sick in years. I have a excellent job, a beautiful house and an awesome car. Yet today multiple times when asked how I was I had the audacity to forget all that God has blessed me with and to begin complaining. The things I complained about weren't even big earth shattering things. When I finally realized what I was doing I felt ashamed. I felt a little like Peter must have felt when the rooster crowed and he realized that he had denied Jesus 3 times. No, I did not deny Jesus but I pretty much denied all of the awesome thing he has done for me a sinner. Tomorrow, I go back to Better than I deserve.
P.S. The better than I deserve is not something I came up with. It is something I stole from a guy by the name of Dave Ramsey. Go to his web site Daveramsey.com and in the search engine type in "Drive free" and watch the short little video that pops up. Then type in "Baby Steps".

Where did we come from?

I was having a discussion with an atheist on the internet about the beginning of everything. His contention is that we were not just a rock floating through space with no breathable atmosphere but developed a breathable atmosphere all along. My next question to him was --- Ok, let's say you are 100% correct and that this rock developed a breathable atmosphere. So, if not from God where did the spark of life come from? Once the Earth developed this atmosphere how did we go from that to all of a sudden having all this life here? Without God it just isn't possible.
Now, this next part is going to get a little more sciencey so if science puts you to sleep I totally understand your skipping ahead. However, I will try to keep it relativity simple. A lot of people believe only one or the other, either science or religion can be right and that science proves religion false which just isn't so. As a matter of fact science proves religion correct to anybody that doesn't have blinders on. I believe everybody knows what DNA is. Otherwise known as Deoxyribonucleic acid, DNA is a thread-like chain of nucleotides carrying the genetic instructions used in the growth, development, functioning and reproduction of all known living organisms and many viruses. Instructions also known as information. You can fit the entirety of an encyclopedia onto a single strand of DNA. One gram of DNA can potentially hold up to 455 exabytes of data, according to the New Scientist magazine. For reference: There are one billion gigabytes in an exabyte, and 1,000 exabytes in a zettabyte. The cloud computing company EMC estimated that there were 1.8 zettabytes of data in the world in 2011, which means we would need only about 4 grams (about a teaspoon) of DNA to hold everything from Plato through the complete works of Shakespeare to Beyonce’s latest album not to mention every cat video out there. How many megabytes of genetic data are stored in the human body? For simplicity’s sake, let’s ignore the microbiome (all non-human cells that live in our body), and focus only on the cells that make up our body. Estimates for the number of cells in the human body range between 10 trillion and 100 trillion. Let us take 100 trillion cells as the generally accepted estimate. So, given that each diploid cell contains 1.5 GB of data (this is very approximate, as I am only accounting for the diploid cells and ignoring the haploid sperm and egg cells in our body), the approximate amount of data stored in the human body is:
1.5 Gbytes x 100 trillion cells = 150 trillion Gbytes or 150×10^12 x 10^9 bytes = 150 Zettabytes (10^21)!!!
Why is this so important? And how does this prove the existence of God? It is simple really. How many books just happened without the existence of an author? How many houses were built without a builder? So, if not God who made the first humans? And the amount of information involved in creating the first humans?  A
Chromosome is a condensed form of DNA. So,
1 chromosome = 1 DNA molecule

Human body has two sets of chromosomes (diploid), each set having 23 chromosomes.
Therefore in one cell there are 46 chromosomes.
46 chromosomes = 46 DNA molecules
(Remember each DNA molecule is of different size here.)
There are more than 37 trillion cells in human body.
46 DNA molecules per cell × 37 trillion cells = 1702 trillion DNA molecules
Still think there is no God? If so, you have more faith than me.

Homeless people

I always wonder what people wanted to be when they grew up and how close they came. Especially, when I see a homeless person because as far as I know, no one grows up saying I think I want to be homeless. And hey, if I can just get a shopping cart that'd be a bonus. When I was 8 there was a take your parent to school day and one kid brought his parent who was a lawyer. He was really well dressed and very articulate. From then on I decided I wanted to be a lawyer but I didn't really know what all went into being a lawyer. I figured you just wore an Armani suit and told people you were a lawyer and bam you were a lawyer. Well, I bought an Armani suit but quickly found out that walking around telling people you are a lawyer when you work at McDonald's doesn't convince many people. Plus mustard is kinda hard to clean out of an Armani suit. ಠ_ಠ Ok, I am just kidding about the McDonalds part but I have found that a lot of people are much like that when it comes to being a Christian. They walk around and tell people that they are a Christian but their lifestyle doesn't match up to what they claim to be. As a Christian, we are a part of a heavenly, God-ruled kingdom. Things of the earth should no longer draw us (Colossians 3:2). We don’t need fear suffering on earth or the trials we face (1 Peter 3:14; 4:12–14), nor should we place importance on things the world values (1 Timothy 6:9–11). Even our bodies and our actions should reflect that our minds are no longer conformed to the world (Romans 12:1–2) but are now instruments of righteousness to God (Romans 6:13).
Psalms 119:11 says Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. That means that having God's word in your heart will help keep sin out. After all, in order to know what a Christian life should look like you need to study the Bible and let it show you. Some verses I like to read that help me in my endeavors to live a Christian lifestyle are: 1 John 2:15-16
James 1:12
James 1:21
Hebrews 13:5
Colossians 3:5
John 8:34
Galatians 5:16
Ephesians 5:3-4
Corinthians 10:13
Chronicles 7:14
John 14:21

Making Changes

I love to read and learn. Always have since the time I was a little kid. I read voraciously. So, a few years ago I read a study published by some think tank that said that when men take a shower they start with their feet and work their way up but when women take a shower they start with their head and work their way down. That struck me as smart on the part of the women because that way you do not have dirty water going down over the parts you have already cleaned. So, I switched and from then on also started with my head first. Realizing that if there is a more intelligent way to do things it would be pretty stupid to keep doing it the same old way. That's the way it is with Jesus. For most of my life, I counted on my own strength and my own intelligence to get me through life. But why should I do that when the obviously more intelligent thing to do would be to instead trust in Jesus. To trust in His strength rather than my weakness. To trust in his wisdom and all-seeing knowledge rather than my ignorance and limited understanding? Happy Easter everybody!!! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )

"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."

"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."

I heard someone the other day who said that they did not think that God would send them to Hell because they always tried to do the right thing and thought there were a lot of people who were worse than them. They also said that God would not really send them to Hell because after all, God is love.
They are right about God being love. He is love. However, that is only one part of God. God is also Justice. Look at it this way. Do you not love your kids? But if they do wrong isn't it because of that very love that you also punish them? After all, if you did not love them you wouldn't really care what they did. You wouldn't care if they disobeyed you and went out and partied till all hours of the night. You may want to display nothing but love for them but sometimes you find that because of that very love you have to hold them to the rules and laws of the house. A judge sitting on a bench may love everyone but how would it go if that is all he was? He could run on a slogan of ---"Vote for me and all will go free." It wouldn't go very well, would it? People would start breaking all manner of laws because they would know that they could get away with it. At some point, the judge would have to also demonstrate justice to go with the compassion. That is the way it is with God. He has SO much love for you and me that He sent His Son to take our punishment so that we wouldn't have to go to Hell  "Where the worm dieth not, and the fire is never quenched" Now it is up to you to decide whether you are going to accept His sacrifice or keep thinking "I think I am good enough" all the way into Hell.
Growing up I never knew about God. When I was a kid occasionally I was taken to a church but I spent all of that time collecting new girlfriends. I paid absolutely no attention to what was being said. Later in my life, after the end of my marriage, :-( when I did finally hear about God  I did not believe. I thought "How could there be someone greater than me. (I found out later that this wasn't near as hard as I thought but back then I unrealistically felt that I was near perfect) I laugh and cry about it now. My parents sent me to a pastor who was supposed to convince me that God was real and that I should turn my life over to Him but the pastor could not answer my questions. When he said I should believe because what if it was true then I would be saved and go to Heaven and if it wasn't true then it wouldn't matter. My question to him was. Well then, shouldn't I also believe in Budda and Thor and all of the other thousand of gods out there just in case they are also real? He said no so I asked why not and he had no answer. So, I continued to not believe. At this point (to my eternal regret) I went around convincing other Christians that there was no God. It was surprisingly easy considering that  In 1 Pet. 3:15 the apostle Peter admonished believers to "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,." and only by meeting honest objections with biblical answers can Christians "demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." as it says in 2 Cor. 10:5. It wasn't until I was in my late 30's that God decided to reveal Himself to me. I had worked all day and half of the night putting out claw machines in a bunch of different cities in Texas. When I finally got home in Victoria, TX I was exhausted. It seemed that I had just laid down when I got a call from my boss saying one of the machines was down so I needed to take the Uhaul they had rented for me to place the machines back to Beaumont where I would get my car a little Subaru Justy and drive it back to Victoria where I would then pick up the company car they were providing me and go fix the machine. So, I made it to Houston and started towards Beaumont but was still really tired. I had not yet gotten my first paycheck and was broke but I had a Target credit card on me so when I spotted a Target on the other side of the freeway I decided to stop and get me something to drink. When I pulled into the Target parking lot I did not notice the crossbar over the entrance. They do not have one at the Target in Victoria. The bar took off the top couple of inches of the U-haul. I started thinking --- "Well...maybe when I turn it in they won't notice the new sunroof"  but of course that is the first thing they saw. Fortunately, when I had signed the paper while picking up the U-haul I had checked the insurance box so it was covered. I then picked up my Subaru Justy. I set the cruise control at 77 and was heading back along I-10 towards Houston when I fell asleep at the wheel. I ran into the back of a bus that had stopped for road construction. I was lifelighted to a hospital in Houston but, other than some bruises I was fine. My Mom came and picked me up. We headed over to the junkyard to see what was left of my car. The owner of the junkyard was amazed that I was alive and after seeing what was left of my car I was too. We started heading back to Victoria when there was some breaking news on the radio of a guy in a truck who had ran into a bus and died instantly. My Mom turned to me and said God must really have some big plans for you and it was just like a spotlight went on in my head. I cannot describe it any better than that but it does not even begin to do it justice. All of a sudden I saw my life and all of the evil I had done in it. I also just knew that God was very real and that without Jesus I was going to Hell. God in His mercy had chosen to give me another chance. He also gave me two more chances after that but I digress. At this point, I set about researching God and whether He was real or not. After all it was fine that I knew that I knew but I wanted to have answers for when others questioned me. The more I researched the more I was convinced and amazed that I had not seen all of this before. After all, I considered myself a highly intelligent man how could I have missed this but, miss it I did. Besides if I had truly been that intelligent I would still have my ex.
I consider myself blessed that I have sinned so much in my life --- that I treated others so horribly. Even those I professed to love like my Ex I did not treat as I should. I consider myself blessed because I KNOW that there is absolutely no way I could get to Heaven without Jesus taking my sins on him. I am not one of those people who can say ---I have lived a pretty sin free life. I think I can make it into Heaven on my own merits. I personally have to throw myself on God's mercy and accept the sacrifice of Jesus in order to avoid Hell. I have no other option. The thing is though neither do any of you. John 14:6 states "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." What this means is it does not matter how good a life you have think you have led. At some point, you have sinned and at The Day of Judgement you will held  accountable for those sins. It is if a murderer was taken to court he may try to tell the judge: Yes, I murdered someone but look how good I have been besides that. The judge is still going to send him to prison. In the same way when you come before God you may try to say yes I broke one of your Commandments but other than that I have led a good life. God will come back with: The word of God says James 2:10
For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God's laws. Someone else might try to say sure I got angry at people and looked at women with lust but I didn't murder anyone and I didn't commit aduldry to which God would say: The word of God says in Matthew 5:21-22:
21 “You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment. 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. and Matthew 5:27-28 states
27 “You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Now at this point, I am hoping that you are beginning to realize that if everyone is going to be judged by these standards on The Day of Judgement then ALL based solely on their own lives will not get into Heaven and will surely be sent to Hell. Because that is true. By yourself and by myself none of us can get to Heaven. Fortunately we have a Savior. Someone willing to take the punishment for all of our sins if we only accept His sacrifice. Someone who died for us so that we may live. My Mom once told me that God doesn't send people to Hell they volunteer and when she first said it I thought that was a weird statement to make. After all who would volunteer to go to Hell but she was right. Every day by not accepting the sacrifice of Jesus people are dying and going to Hell. You do not need to volunteer. Please accept Christ into your life like I did. Accept His sacrifice for your sin so that you do not have to go to Hell "Where the worm dieth not, and the fire is never quenched"That person that said God is Love is right. God is love. He does not want to see ANYONE volunteer to go to Hell. He loved us so much that He allowed his own Son to be the neccessary sacrifice for your sins. Will you accept His sacrifice? Or are you going to keep thinking ---Nah, I'm good enough.

The buffet of the Bible

I have not been as faithful to writing on here as I should be. Once I regurgitated the loss of my wife because I wasn't what she needed or deserved I just kind of died out. I intended to move this in more of a Christian direction but I kept trying for some long sermon. I have finally decided that unless I just start writing off the top of my head and from the bottom of my heart I will never get another post done. So, here goes...I have noticed how people who are either not Christian or have not taken the time to actually read the Bible change verses or cut off part of a verse either because they need it to fit their viewpoint or they do not want to follow all of what God says. Probably the best example is all of those people who say things like: The rich are all bad people because the Bible says that "Money is the root of all evil". That is NOT in fact what it says. It actually say "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil" (emphasis mine) As a matter of fact in Proverbs 21:20 it states: There is desirable treasure, And oil in the dwelling of the wise, But a foolish man squanders it. This simply means that if you are wise you will endeavor to make sure you have enough and not spend it all on stupid things. A newer translation might read...Go forth and read the book "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey so that you do not have to keep being poor all your life and making up your own biblical truths like money is the root of all evil.
Other times they simply take the part of a verse they can live with and ignore the rest of it. An example of this is Hebrews 13:5. Most people have heard that God said "I will never leave you nor forsake you". Unfortunately, they leave by the wayside the first part of it because it is a lot harder to live by. The first part states: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have." How many people can easily do that? Not many---so they leave it out. The problem with that is that the Bible is NOT a smorgasbord. You are not to pick and choose which words you want left in it and which ones you are not ok with. Read the whole Bible. By the way those who are going to come back with well it says about stoning in the Bible. Does that mean we need to be stoning people? Stoning was like our capital punishment. And it was never practiced by Christians. So if you are going to live as a Christian then No, you should not be stoning people.  And the "Eye for a eye and a tooth for a tooth" from Exodus 21:24 was their law and was actually more just than what some would have you believe. It was put into place so that people would not go overboard with their punishments. How many times have you heard someone say "I am going to kill him" after they feel some one has wronged them. This law simply stated that you can get justice but not revenge. Then in Matthew 5:38-39 Jesus says: Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. Ok, I am going to stop here. I am going to do something more on stoning later but there is so much to it I am going to give it its own post because I want to try to do it justice.

1 Timothy 6:10 King James Version (KJV)

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Hebrews 13:5 King James Version (KJV)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
