This is exactly same budget bill (adjusted for inflation) that the DemocRATS voted for 6 months ago. The only reason they are not voting for it this time is because this time they have decided that they want to have included over a billion dollars in funding for free healthcare for illegal aliens. The Republicans are of course refusing because we want to help Americans first. So, it’s real simple. If the democRATS want the government to be reopened and help their constituents then they will vote Yes for the bill that opens it. If the democRATS want the government to stay closed and harm their own constituents in favor of trying to get over a billion dollars that we frankly cannot afford for free healthcare for illegal aliens added on then they will continue to vote against the bill that opens it up.
The Senate has 100 members. The Republicans have the majority with 53 members. However, rather than a simple majority the budget bill to reopen the government needs to have 60 votes for. 3 democrats have sided with the Republicans giving us 56 votes for reopening the government. We still need 4 more democrats out of the 44 left to see the light and decide to help the American people rather than illegal aliens.
